When we look at ourselves it is important to remember that the person we are now is due to the cumulative experiences we have had along our journey to this point. No matter how difficult the challenges, no matter how many successes or failures, whether intentionally or by accident, we have learned to be the person who we are now. We may not realize it at that moment but that is how we grow.
Sometimes we spend so much time comparing ourselves to others that we can undo what our experiences have taught us. We start to hurry through life because we feel that someone else will get “there” before we do. By looking at their lives and not our own, we do not recognize that “there” may not be where we really want to be. It is just that someone else has it so we feel we must have it, too.
Your life’s journey should not be a race to be better than someone else. It is a race to be the best you can be and if you need to get out of the race to do so – do it. You need to be true to yourself, believe in yourself, look for the answers that fit you and not settle for racing to just catch up with someone else. Then, when you get to the “there” that is right for you, you will then have won the race that was meant for you even though you could not see it at the time.
GREAT POST!!!
That was fast! Thank you!
