It seems a lot of people spend their lives holding their breath waiting for something to happen. Waiting for the day to end. Waiting for the evening to come. Waiting for that big break in their careers to come. Waiting for a promotion. Waiting for retirement. Waiting for someone to make them happy. Waiting for “Mr. Right” to come along. Waiting to win the lottery. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
While they wait, life happens all around them. They watch other people being happy. They watch other people being successful. They watch other people get that big job. They watch other people win the lottery and wonder when their turn will come. They watch other people have the lives they wish they could have even while they are waiting and hoping it will just happen.
Figure out those things you can change and those you can’t and then stop waiting and start doing. Their success does not define nor does it take away from your success. Their wins do not mean losses for you. Envision the life you want for yourself then map out the steps you need to take to get there.
Have the humility to look deep within yourself and ask what are the things you need to do in order to move forward even if it means that you have to take a step backwards to do so. There is no shame in starting over. Only wisdom in recognizing where you may need help in order to get there. Life is too short hold your breath and wait for things to happen or for someone else to make things happen for you. Whatever your dreams, ambitions or goals – just exhale and release whatever is holding you back and go for it.

This is such human instinct, and it’s so great you recognize it and have trained yourself to exhale. Thank you for yet another insightful post. I’m guilty of such, I need to train my brain to think differently! Need to live in the present and not rush life forward looking forward to something and anxious to get there missing the present 💝
