I am so grateful to be celebrating my 69th birthday. When you consider family, friends, people you know and those you do not who have died, there is a lot that each of us who are here celebrating birthdays have to be grateful for each day. As I have done in the past, on my birthday I like to celebrate and give gratitude to others for being part of my journey for the part they played in my being who I am. I honestly believe that you learn and take away so much from everyone who is part of your journey even those you had to struggle against to become your best self in spite of their efforts to make you less.
I am grateful for and thank my husband, family, and close friends for without their unconditional love and support, my journey may have been a lot different. I am also extremely grateful for YOU – anyone who is taking a few minutes out of their day to stop and read what I have posted on my blog or my social media. Your time is precious to you and to give me a few minutes of it, I thank you and I am grateful for you. I hope that what I have to say in some small way makes you think, makes you say “oh, yeah” or inspires, encourages, or uplifts you if only for a moment.

For me it is about sharing my experiences and thoughts so that we can realize that we are more alike than we are different, so we are not alone. We can be proud of ourselves and others. We all need to be inspired, uplifted, consoled, listened to, loved, and loving. We all need to hear words of encouragement or just words that make us think and ask questions about ourselves and others even if we have heard it before because hearing it again from someone else at a time when we need it makes all the difference. I offer no magic words or solutions – just my thoughts and my wish to share the journey because it is an amazing ride!
