Pretending to be someone other than who you really are day after day is exhausting! We’ve all been there haven’t we?
In elementary school learning to play nice with the other kids where you were not accepted if you were the slightest bit different. In high school when you couldn’t do cool if your life depended on it but you tried and then ended up on the outside looking in at the cool kids. In college when you wanted to hang out with your dorm mates and party like they could. We worked so hard to be like everyone else. It was so exhausting!
At some point we realized that it is much easier going through life as yourself. The good, the bad, the happy, the sad, the normal, the wacky, the crazy – it’s all you! We need to own it all.
Being ourselves is liberating. You do your normal better than anyone else so why give it up? Life is hard enough without adding character acting to our lives. As William Shakespeare said “To thine own self be true.” Now go out there and make yourself proud of you!

I love this post!!! We all go through that transition of trying to find the real, true self that we are born to be. I am so happy I found the true me early in life. Thank you again for this post!!!

Thank you sorry much! Sorry it took a minute to respond. The message is not new but I think we all need to hear it so we can shake our heads and agree and say “Yeah! That’s me!” Thanks for sharing.
